Barolo Vignarionda Riserva 2019

SKU: P3552S

Vigna Rionda takes its name from the distinctive shape of the land: a gently rounded hill with vineyard rows fully exposed to sunlight. Located in Serralunga d’Alba, this exceptional vineyard of nearly one hectare is one of the most prestigious expressions of the Barolo area.

The soil dates back to the Helvetian geological period and is characterized by the classic Lequio formations, with layers of grey marl alternating with sandstone rich in siliceous sands, cemented by calcium carbonate and iron. This unique composition is enriched with essential trace elements such as potassium, boron, manganese, and magnesium. The active limestone content, at 13.58%, is the highest in the entire Barolo zone, contributing structure, depth, and remarkable aging potential to the wine.

Naturally sheltered by the Castelletto hill, Vigna Rionda benefits from an outstanding microclimate. Protected from harsh winter conditions and north-westerly winds, it offers ideal conditions for vine growing. It is one of the estate’s earliest Nebbiolo vineyards to bud and to reach full ripeness.

Thanks to its extraordinary pedoclimatic characteristics, Vigna Rionda naturally encourages balanced viticulture, making it particularly well suited to organic and sustainable farming practices. An iconic cru that expresses the true identity and nobility of Nebbiolo from Serralunga d’Alba.
