Barolo 2021
Bricco Chiesa represents the historic core of the estate’s production, the vineyard from which it all began. Located at the foot of the Church of Santa Maria della Neve — already referred to in the 15th century as Sancta Maria de Marcenasco — this site features a harmonious succession of well-ordered vineyard rows with full southern exposure, at an altitude ranging from 210 to 290 meters above sea level.
The soil is predominantly composed of fine clay, enriched with sand and calcium carbonate, an ideal combination for producing wines of balance and elegance. The site’s geological history is marked by a remarkable discovery: in 1928, during the manual excavation of a well, a perfectly preserved fish fossil dating back to the Tortonian Miocene emerged at a depth of nine meters. Today, this fossil is on display in the winery, thanks to the generous concession of the F. Eusebio Museum of Alba.
A vineyard that brings together historical significance, a strong sense of place, and an exceptional viticultural vocation.
